1999 | Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Miami, FL Systems Specialist Fulfilled multi-month, 24×7, at sea assignment onboard mega cruise ships traveling in Caribbean. Typical ship had 50 portable PCs, 200 workstations, 10 servers, and 5 remote distribution panels. Communications included onboard as well as satellite communications to shore side. Managed all onboard WAN connected systems including UNIX, Windows NT, and Flex OS Servers and Windows NT Workstation, Windows 98, and IBM 4683 Point of Sale Terminals. Performed problem determination and resolution of applications and systems. Programs included Lotus Notes, MS Office, MS Internet Explorer, Oracle 8.0.5, as well as many Visual Basic 6.0 based industry specific certified shipboard applications. Designed and installed Visual Basic macros used to convert passenger and crew info from UNIX Server to Access databases and Word documents. |

1984 – 1997 | IBM Corporation – Boca Raton, FL and Dallas,TX Systems Analyst/Developer Installed/configured software and delivered access instructions and demonstration scenarios to IBM marketing representatives to implement phase I offering of IBM Software Servers for Windows NT. Servers included: Lotus Notes Domino, Tivoli, Transaction (CICS), DB2 Database, Internet Connection, Microsoft SNA, and ADSM backup services. Installed, configured, and created DB2 scenarios that included SQL queries. Environment included DOS, Windows, and OS/2 clients communicating through a Microsoft SNA Gateway running on an IBM 320 Intel based Symetrical Multi-Processor Server connected to an IBM ES/9000 DB2 Server. Designed, developed, tested, documented and delivered broad range of OS/2 demonstrations. Presented product capabilities to decision makers and independent software vendors attending major industry shows. Demonstrated OS/2, OS/2 Warp, OS/2 Warp Connect, and OPENDOC including related INTERNET facilities. Provided countrywide visibility of OS/2 at twenty-four events per year. Gave presentations and live demonstrations of OS/2 features. Directed activities of 10 person team who provided telephone-based customer support and problem resolution to U.S. OS/2 customers utilizing WINDOWS designed applications. Responsibilities included: prioritization of team activities; preparation of weekly results; resolution of escalated problems, etc. Programmed and tested key components of IBM Operating Systems for seven years. Systems included OS/2, TopView, and DOS. Wrote assembly language code for module creation. |
